·Due to the amount of variation in bean sizes between manufactures I have done away with the numbering system for them now and simply list them by their weight.

· I have done this so as not to cause confusion with other suppliers’ sizes. 

Reef Bean sinkers have very similar applications to ball sinkers with the added advantage of having slightly better bottom holding abilities because of their shape.

The sleek shape cuts through the water on the drop, avoiding flutter, so your baits land where you want them to. The line runs through the centre of reef sinkers so they can be set up as a running sinker, or fixed to your line for a paternoster (dropper) style rig, making them more versatile than top-tied heavyweight sinkers.

They are ideal in estuary situations where the current can be stronger. They are also favoured by some reef fisherman over ball sinkers as they feel they are less likely to snag.
